The Harwood Institute – Systems and Operations Evolution
The Harwood team recognized they needed a better way to work together if they were going to create community change at a scale we all need. That's why they asked me to evolve the way they do business.
I spearheaded the modernization of all business operations including systems upgrades from localized to cloud-based services, implementation of communication and project management tools, and automation of digital services – reducing overhead by more than 50% in all applicable budget categories with 0% downtime. I designed and led multiple 2-hr team training workshops, including 1:1 follow-ups, and individualized coaching; and provided detailed operational handoff documentation.
Q2 – On-boarded new staff and ramped up project management systems. Fully migrated the Institute from Salesforce / ConstantContact / Pardot to InfusionSoft. Completed mission-critical training and documentation for the complete handoff of all systems.
Q1 – Began acting as Interim Director of Marketing. Setup and integrated new event management platform. Relaunched the Harwood website with a simplified navigation and automated data pipeline.
Q4 – Automated expense reporting. Created technology reinvestment plan. Redesigned and updated the Institute's Partner Guidebook.
Q3 – Successfully migrated the Institute from Office 365 to Google Apps with no downtime or loss of data. Reduced budget spending on software by almost 50% over the next year. Developed faster and more accurate financial reporting tools.
Q2 – Began the process of office culture change starting with the introduction of Slack.
